Our analysis of our 2008/09 presence at shows identified
that we were not doing enough to maintain contact with
existing snowmobilers and to retain existing permit
holders.
While this is NOT a GoSnowmobiling objective, it is very
important to the OFSC and its clubs. One way of
addressing this deficiency is to renew our OFSC
corporate presence at the Toronto International
Snowmobile, ATV and Powersports Show, October 16 to 18.
This established show does attract many avid
snowmobilers who are our core members, so the OFSC
negotiated a deal with the show promoters to host a
special “Snowmobilers’ Clubhouse” at this annual event.
The arrangement provides each district with free booth
space adjacent to the OFSC corporate booth.
Classrooms for OFSC Driver Training courses will also be
located at the show. With its displays immediately
inside the show’s main entrance, the OFSC will highlight
its various programs, including permit sales,
partnerships, volunteers, safety and environment.
Under the new arrangement, the Toronto International
Snowmobile, ATV and Powersports Show is dedicating
30,000 sq. ft. to uniquely position organized
snowmobiling within the overall show. The OFSC will work
closely with show promoters to ensure that the
Snowmobilers’ Clubhouse has the upscale look and feel
requested by the snowmobiling community. This means that
the first thing show attendees will see this year when
entering is a strong snowmobiling presence, something
many snowmobilers feel has been missing or buried in
past years.
By taking Go Snowmobiling to non-traditional shows and
attending the Toronto International Snowmobile, ATV and
Powersports Show corporately to maintain our connection
to existing riders, the OFSC is confident that we can
better cover all the bases for growing permit sales in
2009/10.
