Paudash Website Surpasses 1 MILLION WEBHITS for a SINGLE YEAR!!! Posted: January 02, 2009
The numbers for 2008 are in the books and what a year for webtraffic on the Paudash Website! We officially closed the year at just over 1 MILLION HITS starting January 1st and ending December 31st, 2008.
This is a truly staggering number!! Especially when you take into account that we are a non-profit, volunteer-run website with content that basically is relevant for only about 5 months of the year.
Compared with 2007, our total webhits are up more than 17% from last year and more than 47% since 2006. As well, both the number of pages that are being looked at per visit and the number of files being downloaded are also up significantly (11.3% and 8.2% respectively). What this tells us is that people are visiting the Paudash site more often and staying longer each time they visit, suggesting that the content being posted is getting better and more relevant. All good news!
Our highest single hit day for 2008:
Our highest single day visit for all of 2008 was December 11th. We had over 12,600 hits in that SINGLE DAY. Interestingly, this date coincides with the opening of the trails for the season AND the launch of the kick-off movie which is always a big seller. Word seems to get around fast when the movie pops up. Hmm. Guess we should be doing some more of those!
