Volunteers needed to fill positions, come out and support your club.
Well Mother Nature caught us with our hands in our pockets, with the snows coming early in December. As we started to roll out the groomers and our land owner permission slips started rolling in. One land issue in particular did not get resolved till December 28th and we opened the gates on the 29th. This is a large track of land between Wilberforce and Harcourt.
We took a lot of heat for not getting trails opened and we are sorry. The groomer operators worked endlessly to get the trails up to par and did so. With 1800 plus hours grooming and a fuel bill of $20000 plus we did it. I thank each and every one of them for their hard work. These hours were also accomplished with only 4 groomers as we had lent one to the Buckhorn club. It was down with transmission problems.
We are now coming to the end of the season. Our trails are open but limited due to the amount of ice. Some of the hills are getting hard to climb and also to go down. If you recall last year I think we were in t-shirts and swatting blackflies.
We have some board positions that will be vacant at the end of this season. The Vice President is stepping down after 20 years of volunteering in many different positions. Also needed is a treasurer to help maintain our books. And also we could use more bodies on the board to lighten the work load. If you can help please come out and show your support for the club and letís make a difference. Letís work together.
So please come out and be a volunteer. We would love to hear from you.
